FORBES WINS THE 400M HURDLES TO LEAD RIC MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
AT N.E. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Gorham, Maine-Senior Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) finished first in the 400m hurdles to lead the Rhode Island College track and field team at the 2015 New England Open Championship hosted by MIT on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen placed 13th (37 teams) with a score of 22.0. URI won the meet with a score of 104.5.

 

Forbes took home the championship in the 400m hurdles (53.62).

 

Sophomore Steve Vazquez (Central Falls, RI) finished in a tie for second in the high jump (2.09m). Freshman Matthew Charles (North Providence, RI) finished 29th in the 200m (22.98).

Senior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) finished fourth in the triple jump (14.78m). Junior Christian Colavecchio, (Foster, RI) placed 19th in the hammer (42.20m).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, hosted by Springfield on Thursday and Friday, May 14-15.
