RIC MOURNS THE PASSING OF
ASHLEY SIGNORIELLO

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College community was deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of former women’s lacrosse standout Ashley Signoriello who died this morning as a result of injuries suffered in an accident on Dec. 5.

 

Signoriello, who starred as an attacker for the Anchorwomen from 2011-13, recently finished her student teaching requirements and was scheduled to graduate later this month. Signoriello was an early childhood education/special education major.

 

 

 

During her career, Signoriello played in 43 games, starting 42 of them. She totaled 228 shots, 91 goals, 39 assists, 130 points, 92 draw controls, 69 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers. She ranks second all-time in RIC history in assists, is third in draw controls and fifth in shots, goals and points. Signoriello was also a two-time selection to the Little East Conference Spring All-Academic Team.

 

Signoriello also played one season of women’s volleyball as a freshman in 2010. As an outside hitter, she played in 46 sets in 16 matches. She totaled seven kills (0.15/set), a .556 hitting percentage, 11 service aces (0.24/set) and 75 digs (1.63/set).
