SIX RIC WRESTLERS RANKED IN NEW ENGLAND

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College wrestling team is ranked sixth in latest New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) coaches poll. Six individual Anchormen were ranked in their respective weight class in the poll.

 

Roger Williams was ranked first in the poll followed by Johnson & Wales, Coast Guard, Springfield and Williams.

 

Sophomore Terrance Jean-Jacques (Haverhill, MA) leads the way for the Anchormen, ranking first at 285 lbs. He is also ranked sixth in his weight class by d3wrestle.com.

 Senior Jonathan Murray (Brentwood, NY) is ranked fifth at 125 lbs., senior Jonathan Costa (New Bedford, MA) is ranked third at 133 lbs., junior Ricondo Cole (Cranston, RI) is ranked second at 141 lbs.,  junior Shawn Giblin (Cranston, RI) is ranked third at 149 lbs. and junior Brandon Conrad (East Bridgewater, MA) is ranked fifth at 174 lbs.

 

Head Coach Jay Jones squad is 7-6 overall and 6-2 in NEWA action.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Johnson & Wales on Friday, Jan. 30.
