RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE ATHLETICS
HONORS G. GAIL DAVIS '60

Providence, R.I.-G. Gail Davis '60 is stepping down from her position as Rhode Island College's Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development and was recognized for her contributions prior to the men's basketball game vs. UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon.

 A RIC Athletic and Rhode Island Interscholastic League Hall of Famer, Davis returned to Rhode Island College after a long and storied career as a Girls Volleyball Coach and teacher at Toll Gate High School in Warwick.

 

 

 

After her retirement, Davis joined the Student-Athlete Support Staff in the athletic department, first as a proctor, and then took over as the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development, a position she held from 2004 until recently stepping down. Her duties included monitoring study hall, overseeing community service initiatives and RICís Choices Program.

 

Davis has been a mentor to countless RIC student-athletes during her tenure and will be sorely missed.
