BRABOY & WOSENCROFT LEAD RIC
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD AT NEW ENGLAND ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Providence, R.I.-Senior Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) and junior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) each earned N.E. Alliance honors in five events to lead Rhode Island College at the 2015 New England Alliance Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Rhode Island College and UMass Dartmouth at the Providence Career & Technical Academy on Saturday.

 

The Anchorwomen placed fourth (10 teams) in the Alliance, which is comprised of Little East and MASCAC institutions, with a score of 90. Southern Maine won the meet with a score of 152.

 

 

 

Rhode Island College finished third (six teams) in the Little East with a score of 92.0. Southern Maine won the LEC Championships with a score of 197.0.

 

Braboy was the N.E. Alliance champion in the triple jump (11.15m). She also finished first as part of the 4x400m relay (4:09.16), second in the 400m (58.67), fourth in the 200m (26.41) and fifth in the 60m (8.20).

 

Wosencroft finished first in the 400m (58.31), 200m (26.05) and as part of the 4x400m relay (4:09.16). She also finished second in the long jump (5.34m) and sixth in the 60m (8.21).

 

Sophomore Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors with a first place finish in the weight throw (15.41m).

 

Freshman Alicia Holloway (Providence, RI) and sophomore Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors by joining Wosencroft and Braboy on the 4x400m relay.

 

Holloway also broke the school record for the 60m hurdles in qualifying with a time of 9.35.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Div. III Championships hosted by Smith (11 a.m.) on Feb. 20-21.
