CURRAN EARNS SECOND ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONOR AS SWIMMING CONCLUDES SEASON

Providence, R.I.-Freshman Sydney Curran (North Kingstown, RI) picked up her second All-New England award as the Rhode Island College women’s swimming team concluded the 2014-15 season at the third and final day of the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship, hosted by Simmons on Saturday, Feb. 21.

 

The University of Rhode Island hosted the first two days of competition on Feb. 13-14, but the third day was postponed due to inclement weather.

 

 

 

Curran placed fifth in the 100-yd IM with a time of 1:07.10. She had previously earned an All-New England award with a seventh-place effort in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.06) last weekend.

 

Freshman Taylor Ryan (Warwick, RI) placed 14th in the 100-yd freestyle (59.46).

 

RIC finished 16th (20 teams) with a two-day score of 105. Keene State won the meet with a score of 1,146.5.
