HARTAN LEADS WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS TEAM TO FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT BROCKPORT

Brockport, N.Y.-Junior Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) had the high score of the day for the Anchorwomen on beam to lead the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team at a quad-meet hosted by Brockport State on Sunday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen placed fourth (four teams) with a score of 176.725. Brockport State won the meet with a school-record 192.225. Cortland State finished second (185.475), while Ithaca came in third (187.050).

 

Hartanís beam  score (9.475) tied the second-highest result on that event in program history She was also the high scorer for the Anchorwomen on vault (9.375) and floor (9.075).  

 

Brockport junior senior Amanda Carney (Walpole, MA) took the top spot on vault with a 9.700. Senior Stephanie Schuler (Purcellville, VA) also had a strong day for Brockport, scoring 9.500 on vault and a 9.750 on bars.

RIC freshman Corrine Paul (North Easton, MA) competed on vault (8.250) and bars (8.500). Sophomore Emily Murphy (Hampden, MA) was second on the team on vault (9.200) and bars (8.800), while also competing on floor (8.525).

 

Freshman Erin Shea (Braintree, MA) placed second on the team on vault (9.300), while also competing on floor (8.575) and beam (8.925). Freshman Courtney Osborn (Pomfret, CT) competed on beam (9.100), bars (9.000), and vault (8.650).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Bridgeport on Thursday, March 5.
