RIC TRACK & FIELD WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON TUFTS LAST CHANCE MEET
Anchormen & Anchorwomen Ready for NCAA Championships

Medford, Mass.-Junior Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) took home first place in the weight throw by shattering his own program record to lead the Rhode Island College menís and womenís indoor track and field teams at the Tufts Last Chance Meet on Friday evening. This was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

Cummins took first place in the weight throw (18.92m).

 

Freshman Akiel Legall (Providence, RI) finished third in the long jump (6.26m) and fifth in the 200m (23.73). Freshman John Brapoh (Providence, RI) took first place in the 60m hurdles (8.53).

Senior Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) placed third in the 60m hurdles (8.55). Freshman Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) placed sixth in the 60m hurdles (8.98). Freshman Matthew Charles (North Providence, RI) finished fourth in the 200m (23.47).

 

On the women's side, sophomore Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) took second place in the weight throw (14.83m). Senior Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) finished second in the triple jump (11.23m)

 

In upcoming action, several members of the team will compete at the NCAA Div. III National Championships on March 13-14 in Salem, N.C. Individual competitors will be announced on Monday, March 9.
