WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS ENDS SEASON WITH SIXTH PLACE FINISH AT NCGA EAST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Anchorwomen Post Highest Score in 10 Years

Collegeville, Pa.-Freshman Courtney Osborn (Pomfret, CT)  and Samantha LeMire (Moodus, CT) each earned top-10 finishes in the all-around to lead the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team  at the 2015 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) East Regional hosted by Ursinus on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen placed sixth (six teams) with a score of 180.100. Ursinus won the meet with a 193.550. The 180.100 score for the Anchorwomen was the highest mark for the program since Feb. 19, 2005 when RIC fell at MIT 182.250-181.125.

 

Osborn placed 27th on bars (9.075), 27th on beam (9.125), while also scoring on vault (9.150) and floor (8.875) for an all-around total of 36.225 (eighth).

 

 

 

LeMire finished 25th on vault (9.450), 28th on floor (8.950), 29th on beam (9.025) while also scoring on bars (8.725) for an all-around total of 36.150 (ninth).

 

Freshman Victoria Costello (Housatonic, MA) placed 23rd on vault (9.475), while also scoring on bars (8.750).

 

Junior Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) placed 24th on floor (9.125), while also scoring on vault (9.250) and beam (8.825).

 

Ursinus junior Kristina Steffenhagen (Boyertown, PA) notched the highest score of the day with a 9.875 on floor. She also placed second on vault (9.800) and fourth on beam (9.725) to lead the Bears to the victory.
