JEAN-JACQUES FINISHES SECOND AT NCAA WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sophomore Falls, 1-0, in Title Bout; Earn All-American Honors

Hershey, Pa.-Eighth-seeded Rhode Island College sophomore 285 lbs. Terrance Jean-Jacques (Haverhill, MA) fell, 1-0, to second-seeded Augsburg sophomore Donny Longendyke (Vadnais Heights, MN) in the heavyweight championship match  at the 2015 NCAA Div. III Wrestling National Championships on Saturday night.

 

RIC finished 22nd (55 teams) in the nation with a team score of 18.0. Augsburg won the National Championship with a score of 100.0.

 

Jean-Jacques downed fourth-seeded Benjamin Nagle from Wartburg, 12-3, in the semifinals to reach the title bout earlier in the day.

 

 

 

Jean-Jacques opened with a major decision, 9-1, over unseeded Cole Tristram from Brockport State on Friday. He followed that with an impressive, 13-2, major decision over top-seeded Cody Lovejoy from Ohio Northern to reach the semifinals.

 

He finished the season with a 34-2 overall record and attained All-American status.
