2014-15 Rhode Island College Women’s Gymnastics
Season Summary
(0-3 Overall; 0-3 in the NCGA)
Sixth Place at the 2015 NCGA East Regional

Providence, R.I.-Head Coach Bob Nannig’s team finished the 2014-15 season with a 0-3 record in dual meet competition and a 0-3 record against National Collegiate Gymnastics Association  (NCGA) competition.

 

The Anchorwomen closed out the season with a sixth place (six teams) finish with a score of 180.100 at the 2015 NCGA East Regional, hosted by Ursinus College on March 14. The 180.100 marked the first time the Anchorwomen have broken the 180-point plateau since Feb. 19, 2005 when the Anchorwomen scored a 181.125 at The Murray Center.

 

 

 

Senior Jamie Krywinski (Toms River, NJ) wrapped up her four-year RIC career in 2014-15. As a senior in 2014-15, Krywinski averaged a score of 8.358 on floor. She registered a season-best score of 8.475 on that event at the Ithaca Invitational on Feb. 15.

 

As a junior in 2013-14, Krywinski averaged a score of 7.992 on floor for the season. She recorded a season-high score of 8.375 on floor at the West Chester Tri on Jan. 18.

 

As a sophomore in 2012-13, she averaged scores of 6.550 on bars and 8.696 on floor. She posted a season-high score of 8.950 on floor at the ECAC Championships on March 10. Krywinski also tallied a season-high score of 8.150 on vault at the West Chester Quad on March 2 and a season-high score of 6.800 on bars at the Wilson Tri on Feb. 2.

 

As a freshman in 2011-12, she averaged a score of 8.481 on floor, with her season-high of 8.775 coming at the ECAC Championships on March 10.

 

Krywinski is a psychology major and a 2011 graduate of Toms River North High School.

 

Senior Ashley Mertens (Wakefield, RI) wrapped up her four-year career as an Anchorwoman. As a senior in 2014-15, she registered a score of 8.500 on beam against Springfield on Mar. 9.

 

As a junior in 2013-14, she was a reserve on the team.

 

As a sophomore in 2012-13, Mertens recorded a score of 7.200 on beam at the West Chester Quad on March 2.

 

As a freshman in 2011-12, she recorded a season-high score of 8.125 on vault at the Yale Quad on Feb. 11.

 

Mertens is a nursing major and a 2011graduate of South Kingstown High School.

 

Junior Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) was named the team MVP and averaged scores of 9.188 on vault, 8.953 on beam and 9.075 on floor. She scored a season-high score of 9.525 on vault, which was the sixth-best result in school history, against Springfield on March 9. Hartan scored a season-best 9.475, which tied the second-best score in program history, on beam twice on the year. She recorded a season-high score of 9.375 on floor against Springfield on March 9.

 

Junior Kayla LaRoche (Millbury, MA) competed once on the season, scoring a 7.800 on floor at the West Chester Quad on Feb. 7.

 

Junior Cherise Lee (Burlington, NJ) averaged a score of 8.795 on floor for the season. She registered a season-high score of 9.300 against Springfield on Mar. 9.

 

Sophomore Erin Craig (Weymouth, MA) averaged a score of 8.938 on vault for the season. Craig recorded a season-high mark of 9.150 at the Southern Connecticut Quad on Jan. 17.

 

Sophomore Jaclyn Hahn (Marion, MA) averaged scores of 8.125 on bars and 8.700 on floor on the season. She recorded a season-best 8.750 on bars at the NCGA East Regional on Mar. 14. Hahn scored a season-high 9.050 on floor against Ithaca on Feb. 21.

 

Sophomore Megan McNeil (Pawcatuck, CT) averaged an 8.738 on bars before an injury cut short her season. She recorded a season-high score 8.800 on bars at the Southern Connecticut Quad on Jan. 17.

 

Sophomore Emily Murphy (Hampden, MA) averaged scores of 9.042 on vault, 8.080 on bars, 8.865 on beam, 8.550 on floor and 34.156 in the all-around on the season. She scored a season-best 9.250 on vault twice on the year. Murphy scored a season-high 8.800 on bars at the Brockport Quad on Mar. 1. She scored a season-best 9.425 on beam, the 12th best score on that event in program history, at the West Chester Quad on Feb. 7. She notched a season-best 9.050 on floor and 34.850 in the all-around at the Brown Quad on Jan. 24.

 

Sophomore Cyanna Roig (Methuen, MA) was a reserve on the team.

 

Freshman Victoria Costello (Housatonic, MA) averaged a 9.310 on vault, 8.065 on bars and 8.306 on floor on the season. She registered a season-best 9.475 on vault twice on the season, which is the seventh-highest score on that event in program history. Costello recorded a season-high score of 8.750 on bars at the NCGA East Regional on Mar. 14. She scored a season-high score of 8.900 on floor at the Brown Quad on Jan. 24.

 

Freshman Meghan French (Shelton, CT) averaged scores of  8.617 on beam and  7.967 on floor on the season. She recorded a season-high 9.300 at the Bulldog Invitational on Jan. 31. French scored a season-best 8.250 on floor at the West Chester Quad on Feb. 7.

 

Freshman Samantha LeMire (Moodus, CT) averaged scores of 9.158 on vault, 8.892 on bars, 8.842 on beam, 9.183 on floor and 36.075 in the all-around on the season. She was named the NCGA East Region All-Around Gymnast of the Week once on the season following a 36.875 all-around point total at the Brown Quad on Jan. 24. It was the 10th-best all-around score in program history. LeMire scored a season-best 9.450 on vault, which tied the eighth-best score in RIC history, at the NCGA East Regional on Mar. 14.  She scored a season-best 9.200 on bars against Springfield on Jan. 11. LeMire notched a season-best 9.075 on beam and 36.875 in the all-around at the Brown Quad on Jan. 24. She registered a season-high 9.400 score on floor at the Bulldog Invitational on Jan. 31.

 

Freshman Cailee Mallory (Rye, NH) averaged a 7.600 on bars and an 8.721 on beam for the season. She recorded a season-best 7.600 on bars against Springfield on Mar. 9. Mallory registered a season-best 9.250 on beam at the West Chester Quad on Feb. 7.

 

Freshman Courtney Osborn (Pomfret, CT) averaged scores of 8.746 on vault, 8.848 on bars, 8.608 on beam, 8.628 on floor and 34.905 in the all-around for the season. She registered a season-high 9.450 on vault, which tied the eighth-best score in RIC history, against Springfield on Mar. 9. Osborn notched a season-best 9.300 score on bars, which was the sixth-highest score in program history for that event, against Ithaca on Feb. 21. She registered season-highs with scores of 9.300 on beam, 9.250 on floor and 36.900 in the all-around (seventh-highest total in program history) against Springfield on Mar. 9.

 

Freshman Alexandria Otis (Windham, NH) averaged scores of 6.550 on bars and 7.863 on beam on the season. She scored a season-high of 6.550 on bars and 7.875 on beam at the Brockport Quad on Mar. 1.

 

Freshman Corrine Paul (North Easton, MA) averaged scores of 9.018 on vault and 8.206 on bars for the season. She recorded a season-best 9.225 score on vault twice on the season. She notched a season-high score of 8.750 on bars at the NCGA East Regional on Mar. 14.

 

Freshman Erin Shea (Braintree, MA) averaged scores of 9.205 on vault, 8.443 on beam and 8.781 on floor on the season. She scored a season-best 9.350 on vault on two occasions. Shea recorded a season-high score of 8.925 on beam at the Brockport Quad on Mar. 1. She registered a season-best score of 9.100 on floor against Springfield on Mar. 9.

 

Freshman Lacey Whitaker (Mansfield, MA) missed the season with an injury.
