FORBES LEADS RIC TO FIFTH PLACE FINISH AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.-Senior Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) picked up a victory in the 400m hurdles (55.82) to lead the Rhode Island College menís track & field team at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational in New London on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen finished in fifth place (11 teams) with a score of 62.0. WPI won the meet with a score of 175.0.

Sophomore Steve Vazquez (Central Falls, RI) took first place in the high jump (2.03m). Senior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed first in the triple jump (14.03m).

 

Freshman Akiel Legall (Providence, RI) took home first in the long jump (6.38m).

 

 In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, April 4.
