Waterville, Maine-Rhode Island College fell to Thomas, 9-0, in men's tennis action played at the Alfond Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon.


In doubles match play, the Terriers (4-4) took all three doubles matches from the Anchormen (0-2).


Eric Morin and Tyler Small defeated senior Tim Holzinger (Foster, RI) and sophomore Brett Taggart (North Kingstown, RI), 8-1, in the No. 1 doubles match. Zachary Disch and Federico Trujillo won their No. 2 doubles, 8-4, match over freshmen Josh Pimental (Smithfield, RI) and Lee Tiberi (Smithfield, RI). Jonete Roussel and Caleb Cough took down senior Brian Gil (North Providence, RI) and sophomore Chris Klawitter (Brooklyn, CT), 8-2, to complete the doubles sweep.


The Terriers owned the singles play as well, taking all six singles matches to earn the 9-0 team victory.


Morin and Small won their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches both by a score of 6-1, 6-0 over Holzinger and Taggart. In third singles, Disch played a tough match against Pimental, ultimately going on to win, 6-3, 7-5. Cough took down Tiberi, 6-1, 6-1, in his No. 4 singles match, while Caleb Mora defeated Gil, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 5 singles. Joseph Grecoswept his No. 6 singles match, 6-0, 6-0, over Klawitter.


 In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, April 4.
