WOSENCROFT, BRABOY & BARRETTE WIN
TITLES AT N.E. ALLIANCE TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP

Fitchburg, Mass.-Senior Daria Braboy (Providence, RI), junior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI), sophomore Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) and freshman Sydney Curran (North Kingstown, RI) all earned N.E. Alliance honors to lead Rhode Island College at the 2015 N.E. Alliance Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship hosted by Fitchburg State on Saturday.

 

The Anchorwomen placed seventh (11 teams) in the Alliance with a score of 61.0, while taking fourth place (six teams) in the Little East with a score of 68.0. Southern Maine won both the N.E. Alliance and Little East crowns.

 

Wosencroft took home N.E. Alliance honors in three events. She captured the championship in the 400m (57.13), placed second in the long jump (5.39m) and third in the 200m (26.43).

 

 

 

Braboy also took home three N.E. Alliance honors. She placed first in the triple jump (11.49m), second in the 400m (57.58) and fifth in the 200m (26.72).

 

Barrette took home N.E. Alliance honors by taking first in the hammer (48.30m). She also placed 12th in the shot (10.33m).

 

Curran earned N.E. Alliance honors with a fifth place finish in the pole vault (2.90m).

 

Sophomore Lauren Deguire (Blackstone, MA) finished eighth, establishing a new program record, in the 3,000m steeplechase (12:56.58).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Div. III Championships hosted by MIT (10 a.m.).
