WOSENCROFT LEADS ANCHORWOMEN TO THIRD PLACE FINISH AT SPRINGFIELD INVITATIONAL

Springfield, Mass.-Junior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) recorded one first place and four second place finishes to lead the Rhode Island College women’s indoor track & field team at the 2014 Springfield Invitational hosted by Springfield College on Saturday.  

 

The Anchorwomen placed third (four teams) with a team score of 95.0. WPI won the Invitational with a score of 188.0.

 

Wosencroft finished first in the 200m (26.66), while finishing second in the 60m (8.11), long jump (5.04m) and the 4x200m (1:50.11) and 4x400m (4:14.77) relays.

Freshman Alicia Holloway (Providence, RI) finished second and broke the program record (9.65) in the 60m hurdles. Sophomore Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI) placed second in the 4x400m relay (4:14.77) and third in the 800m (2:29.86).

 

Sophomore Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) finished first in the weight throw (15.41m)  and fifth in the shot (9.68m).

 

Senior Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) finished third in the 600m (1:44.17), sixth in the 60m dash (8.34), second in the triple jump (10.53m), second in the long jump (6.45m) and was a member of the 4x200m (1:50.11) and 4x400m (4:14.77) relays that placed second.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Northeastern Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 13.
