KELSEY LACE NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior outside hitter Kelsey Lace (Glendale, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in a 3-1 week for the Anchorwomen.

 

Lace hit .342 (71-18-155) to go along with 71 kills, 47 digs, eight service aces and four blocks. She hit .485 (19-3-33) to go along with 19 kills, five service aces and nine digs in a 3-0 win over UMass Dartmouth on Oct. 13. Lace posted a match-high 14 kills, while also contributing eight digs, in a 3-0 win over Worcester State on Oct. 15. She hit .361 and contributed 38 kills and 30 digs as the Anchorwomen split a tri-match hosted by Wheaton on Oct. 18.

 

 

 

For the season, she has played in 85 sets in 24 matches. Lace is hitting .221 (355-144-954) with 355 kills, 271 digs, 15 service aces and 29 blocks.

 

Head Coach Leo Bush’s team is 16-8 overall and 2-2 in the Little East Conference.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East action at home against UMass Boston on Wednesday, Oct. 21 (7 p.m.).
