GREG GAMMELL NAMED GNAC
MENíS GOLF COACH OF THE YEAR

Austin Cilley Named to All-Sportsmanship Squad

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island Collegeís Greg Gammell was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Menís Golf Coach of the Year and sophomore Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

 

Gammell was selected as the GNAC Coach of the Year for the fifth consecutive season. The Anchormen shot a 635 (313, 322) to take first place at the GNAC Championship on Oct. 17-18 to win the title for the fifth consecutive year and secure a berth in the 2016 NCAA Div. III Menís Golf Championships. As a team, the Anchormen have earned victories in three out of five events on their fall schedule.

Cilley was named to the GNAC Menís Golf All-Sportsmanship Team for his gentlemanly play. In three events during the fall schedule, Cilley averaged a score of 82.3 for the Anchormen. His best round was a 78 at the MCLA Trailblazer Invitational where he finished tied for third, helping the Anchormen capture a victory at the event on Sept. 15.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships held at the Captains Course in Brewster, Mass. on Oct. 25-26.
