KELSEY LACE NAMED
FIRST TEAM ALL-LITTLE EAST

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior outside hitter Kelsey Lace (Glendale, RI) was named First Team All-Little East for her performance in women’s volleyball this season.

 

She played in 108 sets in 30 matches this season. Lace totaled a .213 hitting percentage (446-186-1,219) to go along with 446 kills (4.13/set), 16 assists (.15/set), 42 service aces (.39/set), 342 digs (3.17/set) and 35 blocks (.32/set). She led the Anchorwomen in attempts (1,219), kills and digs, while ranking second in both aces and blocks.

 

 

 

A transfer who spent the previous three seasons at the College of St. Rose, Lace recorded her 1,000th career kill in a 3-0 win over Daniel Webster on Oct. 10. She was named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week once on the season.

 

Head Coach Leo Bush’s Anchorwomen finished the season with an 18-12 overall record and a 3-4 (fifth place tie) mark in the Little East. RIC downed third-seeded Plymouth State, 3-2, in opening round action of the 2015 Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Tournament before falling, 3-0, to top-seeded Keene State in the semifinals. The club’s 18 wins were the most in a single season in six year (2009).
