KOMLA DOGBEY NAMED NSCAA SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College sophomore forward Komla Dogbey (Providence, RI) was named Second Team All-Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for his performance this season.

 

Dogbey, who was also named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Little East, played in 18 games, starting 17 of them. He totaled 16 goals and six assists for 38 points on the season. He led the squad in shots (87), game-winning goals (six), goals and points. Dogbey led the Little East in both goals and points. He is currently 12th all-time at RIC in both career goals (24) and points (57).

 

 

 

Head Coach John Melloís team finished the season with an 11-7 overall record and a 5-2 (third place tie) mark in the Little East. Fourth-seeded RIC upset top-seeded Eastern Connecticut, 1-0, in the semifinals of the 2015 Little East Conference Menís Soccer Tournament, before falling to third-seeded UMass Boston, 2-1, in overtime of the Championship Game.
