DOUGLAS NAMED LITTLE EAST
BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.--Rhode Island College sophomore centerfielder Brad Douglas (Wakefield, RI) was named the Little East Conference Baseball Player of the Week for his performance in the teamís recent spring break trip to Florida.

 

Highlighted by a walk-off RBI single in game two against Central (IA) on March 6, Douglas hit .541 (20-for-37) with 20 hits, two doubles, six walks, two stolen bases and 12 runs scored during the trip. In a doubleheader split with Central, he went 6-for-6 with three RBI and one run scored. Douglas smacked an RBI game-winning single in extra innings to lift the Anchormen to a 4-3 victory.

 

 

 

Head Coach Scott Virgulakís team is 5-6 on the season. In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Roger Williams on Tuesday, March 15 (3:30 p.m.) at Anchorman Field.
