WOSENCROFT LEADS RIC AT
YELLOW JACKET INVITATIONAL

Springfield, Mass.-Senior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) notched two top-five finishes to lead the Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track & field team at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by American International on Saturday afternoon.

 

Rhode Island College finished seventh (21 teams) with a team score of 43.0. Stonehill won the invitational with a score of 100.60.

Wosencroft finished second in the 400m (58.50) and fourth in the 200m (26.17). Freshman Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) finished first in the 400m hurdles (1:03.63; program record), fourth in the triple jump (11.26m) and seventh in the high jump (1.60m).

 

Junior Lauren Deguire (Blackstone, MA) finished fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase (14:03.19). Sophomore Briana Lenihan (Saunderstown, RI) finished third in the 10,000m (43:17.83).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Silfen Invitational on Saturday, April 16.
