COOPER TIES FOR 18TH AS ANCHORMEN WRAP UP
DAY ONE AT NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Penfield, N.Y.--Rhode Island College senior Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) finished in a tie for 18th by shooting a 74 (+2) to lead the menís golf team during first round action of the 2016 NCAA Div. III Menís Golf National Championships played at the Midvale and Mendon courses on Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen, who are currently sitting at 27th overall (41 teams), played the first round at Midvale Country Club (par 72) and will compete at Mendon Golf Club (par 71) on day two. They shot a 316 (+28) on the day on what is considered the more difficult track of the two courses.

 

 

 

Junior Steven Letterle (Cranston, RI) finished the day in a tie for 69th with a 78 (+6). Freshman Tom Sheran (Marston Mills, MA) finished the day tied for 123rd with an 81 (+9).

 

Junior Steven Letterle (Cranston, RI) finished in a 21st-place tie (80; +8) with sophomore Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) rounding out the RIC quintet, finishing 42nd (90; +18).

 

Sophomore Drew Quirk (Longmeadow, MA) finished in a tie for 157th, shooting an 83 (+11), with senior Pete Camerlengo (Pembroke, MA) rounded out the RIC quintet, carding an 88 (+16), which put him in a tie for 200th.
