RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE PLACES
17 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Providence, R.I.-Seventeen Rhode Island College student-athletes were named to the 2016 Little East Conference Spring All-Academic team as announced by the league office today.

 

Student-athletes earned recognition on the all-academic teams based on the following criteria: at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.3. The conference office honored student-athletes in the following sports: baseball, softball, menís tennis, womenís lacrosse and menís and womenís outdoor track & field.

 

The following student-athletes were recognized:

 

Baseball: Junior Nate Cahoone (Westerly, RI).

 

Womenís Lacrosse: Junior Betsy Heidel (Warwick, RI), sophomore Erin Durigan (Cranston, RI) and sophomore Alison Smedberg (Cranston, RI).

 

Softball: Junior Sarah Molin (Seymour, CT), sophomore Jacqueline Gauthier (Seekonk, MA) and sophomore Michaela Paddock (Danbury, CT).

 

Menís Tennis: Junior Cory Duquette (Warwick, RI) and sophomore Lee Tiberi (Smithfield, RI).

 

Menís Indoor Track & Field: Senior Christian Colavecchio (Foster, RI), senior Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI), senior Kevin Redmond (Wakefield, RI) and sophomore Jonathan Carney (Bristol, RI).

 

Womenís Indoor Track & Field: Junior Lauren Deguire (Blackstone, MA), junior Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI), junior Sandra Semedo (Providence, RI) and sophomore Sydney Curran (North Kingstown, RI).
