CABRAL AND CUMMINS LEAD ANCHORMEN
AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.--Rhode Island College junior Colin Cabral (Cumberland, RI) and senior Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) each notched a victory and a second place finish as the Rhode Island College menís indoor track & field team competed at the Coast Guard Winter Invitational on Saturday morning.

 

The Anchormen finished third (five teams) with a team score of 82.0. Coast Guard won the meet with a score of 233.0.

 

Cabral finished first in the shot (13.93m) and second in the weight throw (16.76m). Cummins finished first in the weight throw (17.74m) and second in the shot (13.02m).

Sophomore Matthew Charles (North Providence, RI) finished second in the 200m (23.56), third in the 55m (6.85) and seventh in the long jump (5.96m).

 

Sophomore Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) finished second in the 55m hurdles (8.48), sixth in the long jump (6.02m), seventh in the 55m (7.22) and seventh in the triple jump (11.63m).

 

Senior Kevin Redmond (Wakefield, RI) finished fifth in the shot (12.12m) and ninth in the weight throw (11.28m).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 23.
