WOSENCROFT LEADS ANCHORWOMEN IN
THIRD PLACE PERFORMANCE AT COAST GUARD WINTER INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.--Rhode Island College senior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) won three events and notched a second place finish in another to lead the women’s indoor track & field team at the Coast Guard Winter Invitational on Saturday morning.

 

RIC finished third (five teams) with a score of 129.0. Connecticut College won the meet with a score of 172.0.

 

Wosencroft secured victories in the 55m (7.66) and 200m (26.73), while also notching a second place finish in the long jump (5.02m) and was a member of the first place 4x400m relay (4:21.85).

 

Freshman Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished second in both the 55m (7.71) and the 200m (28.74) She also competed as a member of the first place 4x200m relay (1:50.55) team. Freshman Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished second in the 400m (1:05.80) and fifth in the 55m (7.95), while also competing as a member of the first place 4x200m relay (1:50.05) and the first place 4x400m relay (4:21.85).

Freshman Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) finished first in the high jump (1.57m), first in the long jump (5.06m), first in the triple jump (10.75m) and first in the 600m (1:40.16), while also competing as a member of the first place 4x200m relay (1:50.05) and the first place 4x400m relay (4:21.85).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 23.
