LEGALL WINS FOUR EVENTS AT WESLEYAN INVITATIONAL

Middletown, Conn.-Rhode Island College sophomore Akiel Legall (Providence, RI) earned four individual titles and was a member of one relay victory to lead the menís indoor track & field squad at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

Legall finished first in the 60m (7.09), 200m (23.14), long jump (6.37m) and the triple jump (13.11m), while also competing as a member of the first place 4x400m relay (3:31.60).

Sophomore Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) finished second in both the 60m hurdles (9.15) and the triple jump (11.55m). Sophomore Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) finished first in the weight throw (15.94m) and ninth in the shot (10.87m).

 

Sophomore Matthew Charles (North Providence, RI) finished second in the 200m (23.42), third in the long jump (5.75m) and fourth in the 60m (7.30), while also competing as a member of the first place 4x400m relay (3:31.60).

 

Sophomore Jonathan Carney (Bristol, RI) finished first in the 5,000m (17:50.16). Junior Colin Cabral (Cumberland, RI) finished first in the shot (14.12m). 

 

In upcoming action, the Anchormen will compete at the Boston University Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 30.
