BRUNELLE BREAKS RIC TRIPLE JUMP MARK
AT JOHN THOMAS TERRIER CLASSIC

Boston, Mass.--Rhode Island College freshman Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) set a new program record in the triple jump (11.49m), finishing 12th overall, to lead the Rhode Island College women’s indoor track & field team at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University on Friday night.

 

This was an individual meet with no team scoring. There were schools from all three NCAA divisions in attendance.

 

Brunelle also finished 23rd in the high jump (1.55m) and 67th in the 60m hurdles (9.87), while also competing as a member of the 43rd-place 4x400m relay (4:09.43).

Senior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) finished 69th in the 400m (59.17), while also competing as a member of the 43rd-place 4x400m relay (4:09.43).

 

Junior Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI) finished 124th in the 800m (2:34.92).

 

Junior Lauren Deguire (Blackston, MA) finished 87th in the 1,000m (3:23.38).

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will compete at Boston University on Friday, Feb. 5 (1 p.m.).
