CUMMINS LEADS ANCHORMEN AT N.E. ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Plymouth, N.H.-Rhode Island College senior Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) captured the N.E. Alliance title in the weight throw (18.56m) to lead the Rhode Island College menís indoor track & field team at the 2016 New England Alliance Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Plymouth State on Saturday.

 

The Anchormen finished seventh (11 teams) in the Alliance with 42.50 points. RIC finished third (seven teams) in the Little East with 60 points. Southern Maine captured both the Alliance (153.83 points) and LEC crowns (221.0 points).

Along with his title in the weight throw, Cummins finished in a 12th place tie, in the shot (12.41m).

 

Junior Colin Cabral (Cumberland, RI) earned N.E. Alliance in two events. He finished second in the weight throw (16.23m) and third  in the shot (14.76m). 

 

Sophomore Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors with a fourth place finish in the 60m hurdles (8.99).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to MIT for the N.E. Div. III Championships on Friday and Saturday Feb. 19-20 (11 a.m.).
