Ithaca, N.Y-=Rhode Island College freshman Kyndel Yett (Carrollton, GA) finished 13th on vault to lead the women’s gymnastics team at the 2016 Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational hosted by Ithaca College on Sunday afternoon.


The Anchorwomen, ranked No. 14 in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) finished fifth (five teams) with a score of 178.250. Temple won the event with a score of 191.150. No. 2 Brockport finished second (190.300), No. 4 Cortland was third (186.975) and No. 10 Ithaca (184.300) rounded out the five-team field. Ithaca, which lost to RIC on Feb. 21, improved its team score by 20 points from last Sunday.


Yett finished 13th on vault (9.450) and 21st on floor (9.250), both of which were team-highs. Senior Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) finished 16th on vault (9.400), 23rd on beam (8.850) and 30th on floor (8.475).

Sophomore Courtney Osborn (Pomfret, CT) finished tied for 15th on beam (9.350), 23rd on vault (9.250), 26th on floor (8.900) and 29th on bars (7.800) for an all-around score of 35.300, which ranked her fifth (six competitors).


Sophomore Corrine Paul (North Easton, MA) finished 20th on bars (8.700) and 29th on vault (8.950).


In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will return to Ithaca to compete at the 2016 NCGA East Regional on Sunday, Mar. 6.
