ROBERTS AND CUMMINS BREAK PROGRAM RECORD
 AT TUFTS LAST CHANCE MEET

Medford, Mass.-Freshman Newell Roberts (Providence, RI) set a new school record with a third place finish in the pole vault (4.41m) to lead the Rhode Island College menís indoor track & field team at the Tufts Last Chance Meet on Friday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

Senior Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) finished first in the weight throw (19.28m; new school record). Junior Colin Cabral (Cumberland, RI) finished third in the weight throw (16.61m) and fourth in the shot (14.67m).

 

Sophomore Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) finished fourth in the weight throw (15.88m). Senior Christian Colavecchio (Foster, RI) finished fifth in the weight throw (15.49m).

 

In upcoming action, qualified individuals will compete at the 2015-16 NCAA Div. III Track & Field National Championships, hosted by Grinnell on Friday and Saturday Mar. 11-12 (10 a.m.)
