OSBORN & DIBIASE QUALIFY FOR NCGA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AS ANCHORWOMEN FINISH
SIXTH AT REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Brockport, N.Y.-Rhode Island College sophomore Courtney Osborn (Pomfret, CT) and freshman Allie DiBiase (North Kingstown, RI) qualified as all-arounders for the 2016 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships as Anchorwomen finished sixth at the NCGA East Regional, hosted by Ithaca on Sunday afternoon.

 

RIC posted a season-high score of 181.075 to finish sixth among the six-team field. It was the highest team score for the program since Feb. 19, 2005 when RIC fell at MIT, 182.250-181.125.

 

Brockport (191.875) won the meet, while Ursinus (188.750), Cortland (188.425), Springfield (187.525) and Ithaca (186.475) rounded the rest of the field.

DiBiase and Osborn qualified in the all-around and will travel to Brockport on March 18-19 to compete at the National Championships. There were a total of 36 competitors per event, five of which competed in the all-around.

 

DiBiase finished fourth in the all-around with scores of 9.225 on vault (27th), 8.625 on bars (32nd), 9.200 on beam (24th), 9.275 on floor (24th) for a total score of 36.325.

 

Osborn finished fifth in the all-around with scores of 9.275 on vault (23rd), 9.075 on bars (22nd), 8.725 on beam (32nd), 8.975 on floor (33rd) for a total score of 36.050.

Senior Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) finished 20th on vault (9.350).

 

 Freshman Kyndel Yett (Carrollton, GA) finished tied for 23rd on vault (9.275). Sophomore Erin Shea (Braintree, MA) finished tied for 22nd on floor (9.325)

 

Freshman Miranda Murphy (Lansdale, PA) finished tied for 22nd on bars (9.075). Junior Cailee Mallory (Rye, NH) placed 19th on beam (9.475).
