WOSENCROFT LEADS WOMEN'S TRACK TO FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT SPRINGFIELD INVITATIONAL

Springfield, Mass.-Rhode Island College senior Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) was victorious in three events to lead the women’s indoor track & field team at the season-opening Springfield Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen finished fourth (four teams) with a score of 82.0. Springfield won the meet with a score of 181.0.

 

Wosencroft took victories in the long jump (5.27m) and the 200m (26.66), while also competing as a member of the first place 4x200m relay (1:47.65) and second place 4x400m relay (4:12.62).

Freshman Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) finished first in the high jump (1.62m), first in the triple jump (10.79m) and second in the long jump (5.09m), while also competing as a member of the first place 4x200m relay (1:47.65) and second place 4x400m relay (4:12.62).

 

Junior Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI) finished fourth in the 800m (2:35.37), while also competing as a member of the fourth place 4x800m relay (11:02.77).

 

Freshman Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished fourth in the 400m (1:03.88), while also competing as a member of the first place 4x200m relay (1:47.65) and second place 4x400m relay (4:12.62).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Northeastern Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 12.
