WOMEN’S TENNIS PICKED FIRST IN LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College has been picked to finish first in the 2016 Little East Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. It is the third consecutive season the Anchorwomen have received this accolade.

The Anchorwomen are coming off another successful campaign in 2015, having captured the LEC Regular Season Championship (the first for the program since 2007) and their third straight season with at least 12 victories. Rhode Island College posted a 12-3 overall record and a perfect 8-0 (first place) mark in the Little East Conference.

The Anchorwomen will be led by junior Dayna Reilly (Swansea, MA) and senior Julie Reddy (Smithfield, RI).  Reilly occupied the No. 1 singles spot for RIC last season, posting a 10-4 record while earning All-Little East accolades.  Reddy, also an All-LEC performer for the Anchorwomen, teamed with Reilly to notch a 10-3 record at No. 1 doubles, which included an undefeated 8-0 mark in conference play.  Reddy was also 12-2 in singles action for the year.
