WARDíS 11 KILLS ARENíT ENOUGH IN, 3-0, TO BRANDEIS

Waltham-Mass.-Sophomore outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) knocked down 11 kills and contributed seven digs as the Rhode Island College womenís volleyball team lost, 3-0, to Brandeis at the Brandeis Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Judges (2-0) swept all three sets (25-21, 25-16, 25-17) to hand the Anchorwomen (0-2) their second loss of the season.

 

Junior middle blocker Sierra Smith (Longmont, CO) registered six kills, while junior setter Abigayl White (Coventry, RI) and freshman setter Jacqueline Jutras (Foster, RI) combined for 18 assists with nine apiece. Junior outside hitter Courtney Lambrese (Cranston, RI) led the squad with eight digs.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will close out action at the Brandeis Invitational with a match against Babson (noon) later this afternoon.
