DREW QUIRK & JOHN RODERICK LEAD
MEN'S GOLF TO MCLA INVITATIONAL TITLE

Pittsfield, Mass.-Junior Drew Quirk (Longmeadow, MA) and senior John Roderick (Hope, RI) each tied for third with matching scores of 76 as the Rhode Island College menís golf team opened the 2016-17 campaign with a first place finish at the MCLA Invitational on Thursday afternoon.

 

Rhode Island College finished first among an 11-team field with a score of 307. Roger Williams placed second with a score of 320. Westfield State (321), MCLA (326) and Elms (327) rounded out the top five.

 

 

 

RIC junior Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) tied for fifth with a score of 77. Senior Steve Letterle (Cranston, RI) and freshman Nathan Patterson (Conway, MA) each had 78's on the 6,827 yard par 72 layout, good for a seventh place tie.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to the Elms Blazers Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18.
