BISSITT LEADS ANCHORWOMEN
AT UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL

North Dartmouth, Mass.-Freshman Cassidy Bissitt (Smithfield, RI) finished 131st (275 runners) with a time of 20:54.65 to lead the Rhode Island College women’s cross country team to a 28th place finish (37 teams) at the 2016 UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen finished with a team score of 815.0, while Brandeis won the meet with a score of 99.0.

Junior Briana Lenihan (Saunderstown, RI) notched a 138th place (21:04.13) finish, while sophomore Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI) came in 177th place (21:56.58). Sophomore Veronica Northup (Hope, RI) finished in 201st placed (22:48.13) with senior Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI) placing 205th (22:54.97).

 

Freshman Sarah Basler (East Greenwich, RI) came in 215th (23:11.84), while junior Lissa Almanzar (Providence, RI) was in 237th place (24:33.50).  Following closely behind Almanzar in 239th place (24:35.31) was senior Abigail Dandurand (Hope Valley, RI).

 

Freshman Wennely Figueroa (Providence, RI) finished in 247th place (25:08.99) finish, while junior Tess Rhoat (Wakefield, RI) placed 257th (26:47.37). Sophomore Margaret Buckley (Norwich, CT) placed 272nd (31:35.03) to round out the RIC contingent.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Gordon College Pop Crowell Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26 (11:30 a.m.).
