WARD REGISTERS 11 KILLS IN, 3-0, LOSS TO OWLS

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College women’s volleyball squad suffered a 3-0 (24-26, 22-25, 22-25) setback against Keene State in a Little East Conference contest played at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.

 

RIC (5-6, 0-2 LEC) was led by sophomore outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) with 11 kills and eight digs, while junior outside hitter Courtney Lambrese (Cranston, RI) had eight kills with four digs and two service aces. Junior setter Abigayl White (Coventry, RI) notched 25 assists and senior libero Megan Armburg (Swansea, MA) contributed a team best 11 digs.

 

 

 

 

Junior middle blocker Courtney Collins (Litchfield, NH) paced Keene State (9-6, 2-0 LEC) with 10 kills and two blocks, while junior outside hitter Rachel Lamica (Malone, NY) chipped in with eight kills, four digs, two blocks and two service aces.  Junior setter Kate Cunningham (Nelsonville, NY) registered 23 assists and three digs, while sophomore Riley Bunker (Simi Valley, CA) tallied a match best 17 digs. 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Nichols on Wednesday, Sept. 28 ( p.m.).
