CARNEY LEADS ANCHORMEN
AT JAMES EARLEY INVITATIONAL

Westfield, Mass.-The Rhode Island College menís cross country team competed at the 21st Annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park on Saturday morning. The Anchormen did not score as a team. Brandeis won the meet (41 teams) with a team score of 68.

 

RIC junior Jonathan Carney (Bristol, RI) finished 130th (431 runners) with a time of (28:13.99) over the 8K course. Freshman Helder Gomes (Pawtucket, RI) notched a time of (30:33.97), which was good for a 289th place finish. Sophomore Jeff Garson (Cumberland, RI) placed 290th (30:34.45) for the Anchormen. Classmate Carlton Eaton (Smithfield, RI) rounded out the RIC competitors, finishing in 383rd (34:23.49).

 In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 15 (11:15 a.m.).
