ELIMANE SEYE NAMED LITTLE EAST MENíS SOCCER
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College junior defender Elimane Seye (Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference Menís Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

 

Seye controlled the action defensively as the Anchormen traveled to Gordon and upset the Flying Scots, 2-1 on Oct. 12. The talented back followed that up with a goal, while anchoring the RIC defense, in a 2-1 win vs. Little East rival Keene State on Oct. 15.

 

 

 

For the season, Seye has been a key contributor to a RIC defense that has held opponents to just 17 goals in 14 games with four shutouts on the year. He has played in 14 games, starting all of them. Seye has five goals for 10 points.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College (10-3-1, 3-1-1 LEC) will host Westfield State at Alumni Field on Wednesday, Oct. 20 (7:00 p.m.).
