CARNEY LEADS ANCHORMEN AT
LITTLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP

North Dartmouth, Mass.- The Rhode Island College menís cross country team competed at the 2016 Little East Championship, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon. The Anchormen did not score as a team. Southern Maine won the meet (six teams) with a team score of 45.

 

RIC was paced by junior Jonathan Carney (Bristol, RI), who finished the 8K course in 26th place (59 runners) (27:40.69). Freshman Helder Gomes (Pawtucket, RI) recorded a 33rd place finish (28:30.37), while sophomore Jeff Garson (Cumberland, RI) placed 49th (30:25.46). Freshman Carlton Eaton (Smithfield, RI) rounded out the runners for the Anchormen, placing 57th (32:42.35).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to the 2016 N.E. Div. III Championships, hosted by Westfield State on Saturday, Nov. 12 (Noon).
