COURTNEY LAMBRESE NAMED LITTLE EAST WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College junior outside hitter Courtney Lambrese (Cranston, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week in a 3-0 week for the Anchorwomen.

 

Lambrese helped the Anchorwomen wrap up the 2016 season with a perfect 3-0 effort, defeating UMass Dartmouth, 3-0, on Thursday, Oct. 25 for the squad’s first LEC win of the season. Lambrese recorded 13 kills and five digs in the win over the Corsairs.

 

The talented outside hitter put an end to her impressive junior campaign on Saturday when she helped the Anchorwomen to a sweep of Framingham State and Worcester State.  In a 3-2 win over Framingham State, she tied her season-best with 20 kills, while also adding six digs and a pair of service aces.  Lambrese followed that up with a double-double, her second of the season, with 18 kills and 13 digs in the win over Worcester State.

 

 

 

Lambrese hit a remarkable .320 for the week (51 kills, 10 errors, 128 attack errors), averaging 4.64 kills and 2.18 digs per set in the perfect week for the Anchorwomen.

 

For the season, she played in 86 sets in 25 matches. Lambrese hit .211 (258-92-785) to go along with 258 kills and 137 digs.

 

Head Coach Leo Bush’s Anchorwomen finished the season with a 12-13 overall and a 1-6 (seventh place) mark in the Little East Conference.
