DAYNA REILLY NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE
WOMENíS TENNIS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Joins Four Other Anchorwomen on LEC All-Conference Teams

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College junior Dayna Reilly (Swansea, MA) was named the 2016 Little East Conference Womenís Tennis Player of the Year, First Team All-Little East in singles and First Team All-Little East in doubles for her performance this season.

 

The talented junior posted a near-perfect 13-1 record while playing the No. 1 singles spot for the Little East Regular Season Co-Champions. She also posted a 14-1 record at No. 1 doubles and complied 20.0 points.

Senior Julie Reddy (Smithfield, RI) paired with Reilly to earn First Team All-Little East honors in doubles and was named Second Team All-Little East in singles.  Reddy was 11-4 at No. 2 singles and 14-1 at No. 1 doubles for 18.0 points. She is RICís all-time leader with 77.5 career points.

Junior Laura Nastasi (Smithville, NJ) was named Second Team All-Little East in singles. She was 11-1 at No. 3 singles and 10-3 at No. 3 doubles for 16.0 points on the season.

Sophomore Katherine Braganca (Pawtucket, RI) and junior Isabella Romeo (Greenville, RI) were named Second Team All-Little East in doubles. Braganca and Romeo posted an 11-3 record while playing the No. 2 doubles spot for the Anchorwomen. Braganca was 10-1 at primarily No. 4 singles and 11-3 at No. 2 doubles for 15.5 points. Romeo was 9-5 at No. 5-6 singles and 11-3 and No. 2 doubles for 14.5 points.

Head Coach Adam Springís Anchorwomen finished the season with a 13-2 overall record and a 7-1 (first place tie) in the Little East Conference. After defeating UMass Dartmouth, 5-0, in the semifinals on Oct. 20, Rhode Island College fell to No. 1-seeded Bridgewater State, 5-4, in the Championship Match on Oct. 29.
