BRADLEY & TRAUTMAN SCORE IN, 14-2, LOSS TO OWLS

Providence, R.I.--Sophomore attacker Tess Bradley (Tiverton, RI) and senior midfielder Jessica Trautman (Narragansett, RI) each scored for Rhode Island College as the women’s lacrosse team dropped a 14-2 decision to Keene State in Little East Conference action on Thursday evening.

 

Keene State (4-7, 2-0 LEC) sophomore midfielder Chelsea Lewis (Londonderry, NH) scored four goals and added four assists for eight points, while freshman attacker Kelly Chadnick (Brewster, NY) also tallied four markers.

 

RIC (2-6, 0-1 LEC) scored the first goal of the game on an unassisted tally from Bradley just 6:33 into the contest. Keene State would close out the half with 11 unanswered goals to take an 11-1 lead heading in to halftime. The Owls then controlled the action for the second half en route to the 14-2 victory.

Keene State held a commanding 36-4 advantage in shots and a 39-18 advantage in ground balls for the game.

 

RIC sophomore goalkeeper Julia Eaton (Cumberland, RI) made 16 saves in the setback. Senior netminder Alison Argiro (Hingham, MA) made one save and combined with sophomore Anna O’Brien (Winchester, MA) in the win for the Owls.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East Conference play at home against Southern Maine on Saturday, April 15 (1 p.m.).
