RODERICK PACES ANCHORMEN TO SECOND PLACE FINISH AT WNE INVITATIONAL

Providence, R.I.--The Rhode Island College menís golf team notched a second place finish at the 2017 Western New England Invitational, held at the Veteranís Memorial Golf Course on Thursday.

 

The Anchormen finished with a team score of (302) for the 10-team tournament at the par 72 course that measures 6,433 yards. Western New England took home the team title with a score of (300).

 

 

 Senior John Roderick

 

RIC senior John Roderick (Hope, RI) was the top finisher for the Anchormen, recording a tie for fourth place with a 74. Junior Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) and freshman Nathan Peterson (Conway, MA) each carded a 75, which was good for an eighth place tie.

 

Senior Steven Letterle (Cranston, RI) placed 13th with a 78, while junior Josh Macera (Cranston, RI) rounded out the Anchormen golfers, finishing in a tie for 23rd place with an 80.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to the JWU Wildcat Spring Invitational at Cranston Country Club on Saturday, April 22 (8:15 a.m.)
