NICOLE THIBODEAU  RECEIVES PAUL BOURGET SCHOLARSHIP AT CAP & GOWN CEREMONY

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior defensive specialist Nicole Thibodeau (Loxahatchee, FL) received the Paul Bourget Family Scholarship at the college’s annual Cap and Gown ceremony on Wednesday morning.

 

During her women’s volleyball career, Thibodeau played in 242 sets in 86 matches. She recorded 311 digs, 34 service aces, 18 assists and 10 kills.

 

 

 

As a senior in 2016, she played in 77 sets in 24 matches. Thibodeau recorded 116 digs (1.51/set), nine assists (.12/set), four kills (0.05/set) and four service aces (0.05/set). She notched a season-best 14 digs on two occasions, first in the 3-0 win over Mount Holyoke on Sept. 10 and again in the 3-1 win over Mount Holyoke on Oct. 1. She registered a season-best three set assists in the setback against Plymouth State on Oct. 22. 

 

As a junior in 2015, she played in 68 sets in 21 matches. She tallied one kill (.01/set), three assists (.04/set), 44 digs (.65/set) and 20 service aces (.29/set).

 

As a sophomore in 2014, she played in 42 sets in 22 matches. She recorded one assist (.02/set), seven service aces (.17/set) and 41 digs (.98/set).

 

 

 

As a freshman in 2013, she played in 58 sets in 20 matches. She totaled five kills (0.09/set), five assists (0.09/set), three service aces (0.05) and 111 digs (1.91/set). Thibodeau ranked third on the squad in digs per set ranked fourth on the team in total digs for the year. She tallied double-digit digs twice for the season and posted a season-high of 12 digs against Western Connecticut on Oct. 29, while also finishing with a season-high of two kills in that same match.

 

She is a justice studies/sociology major and a 2013 graduate of Seminole Ridge High School.
