THREE FROM RIC EARN ALL-CONFERENCE
HONORS IN MENíS TENNIS

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College sophomore Matthew Gambardella (West Warwick, RI), senior Cory Duquette (Warwick, RI) and sophomore Chandler Scott (Ashaway, RI) were honored by the Little East Conference for their respective performances in menís tennis this spring.

 

 

 Sophomore Matt Gambardella

 

Gambardella was named Second Team All-Little East Conference in singles. He was 11-3 (.786) at mainly No. 4 singles and 10-6 (.625) at primarily No. 2 doubles for 16.0 points on the season. Gambardella was also named the squadís team MVP for the second straight season.

 

 

 Sophomore Chandler Scott

 

Scott and Duquette were named Second Team All-Little East at doubles. The duo combined to go 8-7 overall and 5-1 against Little East competition at the No. 2 doubles spot.

 

 

 Senior Cory Duquette

 

Head Coach Lorne Teeterís team finished the season with an 8-8 overall record and a 4-2 mark (second place tie) in the Little East. After securing a 5-3 win over sixth-seeded Western Connecticut in the first round, the third-seeded Anchormen fell to the No. 2-seeded UMass Dartmouth, 5-1, in the semifinals of the LEC tournament to end the season.
