ELENI GRAMMAS BREAKS PERSONAL AND RIC MARK
IN THE 100M AT MIT LAST CHANCE MEET

Cambridge, Mass.Rhode Island College sophomore Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) broke her own program record in the 100m (12.02) with a first place finish as the women's outdoor track & field team wrapped up the regular season at the MIT Last Chance Meet on Thursday evening. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

Grammas ran a time of 12.18 in the preliminaries of the 100m before establishing a new personal record in the finals.

 

 

 Sophomore Eleni Grammas

 

Sophomore Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) captured first place in the triple jump (11.49m) and registered a third place finish in the long jump (5.50m).

 

Junior Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) posted a fourth place finish in the hammer (50.13m).

 

 Sophomore Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI) registered a 13th place finish in the 400m (1:01.27) for the Anchorwomen.

 

 Eleni Grammas, Nicole Grammas, Melanie Brunelle and freshman Jacklyn Xavier (Cumberland, RI) finished seventh in the 4x100m relay (49.00).

 

Several Anchorwomen are expected to qualify to the NCAA Div. III National Championships. 

 

Individual qualifiers to the NCAA Div. III Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships will be announced on Saturday, May 20.
