WAGNAC FINISHES 19TH IN THE 400M HURDLES AT NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Geneva, Ohio-Rhode Island College freshman Jephte Wagnac (Providence, RI) finished 19th in the 400m hurdles (57.04) at the 2017 NCAA Div. III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Mount Union at the SPIRE Institute on Thursday afternoon. The top nine in each event advance to the finals. 

 

Wagnac had a standout rookie campaign for the Anchormen. He was named the team MVP and earned Little East Conference Rookie Field Athlete of the Year accolades. He also earned All-New England, All-NEICAAA and N.E. Alliance honors, to go along with the Little East Championship in the 400m hurdles, during the outdoor season.

In upcoming women's track & field action at the National Championships, sophomore Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) will run in the preliminaries of the 100m on Friday, May 26 (3:15 p.m.) Classmate Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) will compete in the triple jump on Saturday, May 27 (1:30 p.m.), with junior Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) competing in the hammer on Saturday, May 27 (10:30 a.m.)
