ELENI GRAMMAS FINISHES 15TH IN 100M
AT NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Geneva, Ohio--Rhode Island College sophomore Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished 15th in the 100m (12.34) at the 2017 NCAA Div. III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Mount Union at the SPIRE Institute on Friday afternoon. The top nine in each event advance to the finals.

 

During the outdoor season, Grammas earned N.E. Alliance honors with a third place finish in the 100m (12.30) at the Alliance Championships on April 29. She also earned N.E. Alliance accolades with a fourth place finish in the 200m (25.79). She earned All-New England honors in the 100m (12.05) with a second place finish at the N.E. Div. III Championships, hosted by Williams on May 5-6. Grammas placed 14th in the 100m (12.35) at the N.E. Open Championships, hosted by Williams on May 12-13. Grammas broke her own program record in the 100m (12.02; season-best) at the MIT Last Chance Meet on May 18.

 

 

 

In upcoming action at the National Championships, sophomore Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) will compete in the triple jump on Saturday, May 27 (1:30 p.m.), while junior Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) will see action in the hammer on Saturday, May 27 (10:30 a.m.)
