RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE PLACES
20 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON LITTLE EAST
SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Providence, R.I.-Twenty Rhode Island College student-athletes were named to the 2017 Little East Conference Spring All-Academic team for their respective performances in the classroom this year.

 

Student-athletes earned recognition on the all-academic teams based on the following criteria: at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.3. The conference office honored student-athletes in the following sports: baseball, softball, menís and womenís lacrosse, menís tennis and menís and womenís outdoor track and field.

 

The following student-athletes were recognized:

 

Baseball: Senior Nate Cahoone (Westerly, RI).

 

Softball: Sophomore Briana Gough (West Warwick, RI), senior Sarah Molin (Seymour, CT), junior Michaela Paddock (Danbury, CT), junior Chelsea Schott (Meriden, CT) and junior Kelsey Wood (North Dighton, MA).

 

Womenís Lacrosse: Sophomore Megan Cummins (Lincoln, RI), sophomore Katherine Gould (Harrisville, RI), senior Betsy Heidel (Warwick, RI) and junior Allison Smedberg (Cranston, RI).

 

Menís Tennis: Senior Cory Duquette (Warwick, RI) and junior Lee Tiberi (Smithfield, RI).

 

Menís Outdoor Track & Field: Junior Jonathan Carney (Bristol, RI) and sophomore Adam Stomberg (West Greenwich, RI).

 

Womenís Outdoor Track & Field: Sophomore Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI), Margaret Buckley (Norwich, CT), sophomore Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI), sophomore Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI), junior Briana Lenihan (Saunderstown, RI) and sophomore Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI).
